Her concise, thoughtful, often enigmatic and mysterious poems don’t lose their actuality and wisdom, continuing to influence and inspire readers through decades and centuries. In its form and style, its a poem thats typical of Dickinsons work: sparse but compact, philosophical but approachable, meditative but, ultimately. Hope is personified as a feathered bird which resides in mans soul. Dickinson’s poetry explores a wide range of themes, among which the themes of death, nature, love, and spirituality, and her distinctive style includes the use of slant rhyme as well as unusual punctuation and capitalization. When they were eventually published, she deservedly gained recognition as one of the greatest poets of the 19th century. ![]() In the second stanza, Dickinson describes the tune, or song, produced by the bird, and says that this song is. ![]() However, after her death, her sister discovered over 1,700 poems that Emili had written throughout her life. Thus, hope has feathers, like a bird, because it can raise you up in difficult times.
